Definition

The MYC gene is located at 8q24 and is one of the most frequently amplified regions among cancers. Besides Burkitt lymphoma, MYC amplification/rearrangement has also been reported in hematologic malignancies such as "double-hit" B-cell lymphomas, blastoid mantle cell lymphoma, CLL, and in solid tumors such as colorectal, bladder, breast, ovarian and prostate cancers.
