Definition

D13S319 is a probe site marking the minimal deletion region at 13q14.3 and generally encompasses the miR-15a/16-1 cluster; it represents a narrower region than RB1. Deletions detected with this probe may not include RB1 ("Type 1") or may extend to RB1 ("Type 2"). The size of the deletion and the percentage of deleted cells together affect prognosis.
