Definition

The LAMP1 locus is located at 13q34 and is generally used as a control/accompanying region together with the D13S25 (13q14.3) probe in a dual-color FISH panel; it is classically designed to detect the 13q14 deletion, the most common cytogenetic anomaly in CLL. In rare cases, balanced translocations involving the 13q34 region have been described.
