Definition

Trisomy 12 is the second most common cytogenetic abnormality in chronic lymphocytic leukemia (CLL) (detected by interphase FISH in approximately 16 to 20% of cases) and generally falls into the intermediate risk category, associated with a course worse than 13q deletion but better than 11q or 17p deletion.
