Definition

Trisomy 8 is one of the most common numerical chromosome abnormalities in AML and MDS (found in about 10% of AML cases, most often as a sole abnormality or together with other findings); under ELN/WHO risk classification, isolated +8 generally falls into the intermediate risk group.
