Definition

The NTRK2 gene encodes the TRKB receptor; like NTRK1 and NTRK3, it leads to oncogenic kinase activation when joined to a fusion partner. It is the rarest member of the NTRK family, but has been reported in glioma and some neuroendocrine tumors; tumor-agnostic TRK inhibitors (larotrectinib, entrectinib) are also effective against this fusion.
