Definition

The NTRK3 gene encodes the TRKC receptor; it is most commonly seen as the ETV6-NTRK3 fusion and is characteristic of infantile fibrosarcoma, congenital mesoblastic nephroma, and secretory breast/salivary gland carcinomas. It is the best characterized member of the NTRK family and has provided much of the data underlying the approval of tumor-agnostic TRK inhibitor therapy.
