Definition

Heterozygous pathogenic variants in the APPL1 gene impair the function of an adaptor protein that regulates crosstalk between adiponectin and insulin signaling pathways. MODY14 is an extremely rare subtype associated with only a few variants in the literature, with very few families reported worldwide.
