Solid Cancers Gene (RNA) Fusions Panel (25 Genes)
Definition
This RNA-based NGS panel screens, in a single run, clinically actionable gene fusions in solid tumors across 25 genes (including ALK, ROS1, RET, NTRK1/2/3, FGFR1-3 and MET). These fusions determine response to tyrosine kinase inhibitor therapy, particularly in NSCLC, thyroid cancer and sarcomas; the RNA-based approach can also capture intronic breakpoints that DNA panels may miss.
Gene/region examined
NOTCH2, NTRK1, ALK, FGFR3, PDGFRA, TERT, PDGFRB, ROS1, MYB, ETV1, EGFR, MET, BRAF, NRG1, NTRK2, RET, FGFR2, ETV6, NUTM1, NTRK3, ETV4, BRD4, ERG, EWSR1, TFE3
Method
Next Generation Sequencing
Accepted sample types
Solid Tumor, FFPE
Inheritance
Detects acquired somatic gene fusions in tumor tissue that arise from chromosomal rearrangements.
