Definition

The GOSR2 gene encodes a SNARE protein involved in Golgi-associated vesicle transport; the same founder variant (c.430G>T) has been identified in all reported cases. The disease begins on average at age 2 with ataxia, followed by myoclonic seizures, scoliosis in adolescence, and elevated creatine kinase; patients become wheelchair-dependent at an average age of 13.
